Lectures will be shown from 11:00am -12:15pm on Tuesday & Thursday in Campbell Hall. Lectures start promptly at 11:00am and run for the entire period. Attendance will be taken via iClicker.<\/p>\n

Film<\/strong><\/p>\n

A number of the films that we have watched this term have focused on personal action, such as adopting a largely plant-based diet or becoming a minimalist, as a way of addressing the climate crisis. This week we will approach this as a political issue by considering the most sweeping legislation ever proposed in the U.S. to address the climate crisis: the Green New Deal.<\/p>\n

Although Joe Biden\u2019s climate proposals differ from the Green New Deal, it is still important to consider just what sort of actions would be required to mitigate the climate crisis \u2013 as well as to consider the political resistance that this proposal received.<\/p>\n

Please watch \u201cThe Green New Deal, explained<\/a>,\u201d and \u201cWhy you still don\u2019t understand the Green New Deal<\/a>,\u201d which are both short\u00a0VOX<\/em>\u00a0videos, as well as \u201cA Message From the Future With Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez<\/a>.\u201d All are on YouTube.<\/p>\n
